Privacy policy
Last updated: September 2026 · Questions: info@getmaplelink.ca
1. Who we are
MapleLink Support Inc. ("MapleLink", "we") is an independent Canadian company providing in-home internet and WiFi support services. We are not affiliated with TELUS, Bell, Rogers, or any telecommunications provider. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights over it.
2. What we collect
- Booking & service details — name, contact information, service address/neighbourhood, and a description of your issue (via our website form, chat, or email).
- Service records — job notes, equipment photos (equipment and cabling only — never screens containing personal data or people), and your setup sheet.
- Payment records — processed by our payment provider (Square/Stripe); we store transaction confirmations, not full card numbers.
- Chat conversations — handled by Tawk.to; see section 5.
- Website analytics — if enabled, anonymized usage data (pages visited, device type) via Google Analytics.
3. How we use it
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on services you requested
- To honour our 30-day warranty and care-plan obligations
- To send service-related messages (booking confirmations, visit follow-ups)
- To meet legal, tax, and insurance record-keeping requirements
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing emails unless you opt in.
4. What we never do
- Never browse, copy, or retain your personal files, photos, passwords (beyond what you write on the setup sheet you keep), or browsing history
- Never access device data beyond what is required to fix the reported issue
- Never share your information with your internet provider without your explicit request
5. Third-party processors
- Tawk.to — website chat (see Tawk.to's own privacy policy; chats may be stored on their servers)
- Formspree — website booking form delivery
- Square/Stripe — payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant; card data never touches our servers)
- Google — business email and, if enabled, analytics
6. Retention & security
Service records are kept for the life of the business plus the period required for tax and legal purposes (typically 6–7 years), then deleted. Access is limited to our technicians; devices are password-protected; job photos are stored without identifying personal data.
7. Your rights
Under Canada's PIPEDA (and Alberta's privacy framework), you may request access to your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements) at any time by emailing info@getmaplelink.ca. We respond within 30 days. If you believe we mishandled your information, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
