The Smart Hub (the white box with the pull-up antenna) connects rural homes over cell towers instead of cables. It works brilliantly with a good signal and badly with a poor one — so most fixes are about giving it the best possible signal.

The hub's screen or app shows signal strength. Walk it around the house — upstairs windows usually win, and the side of the house facing town usually beats the back. Even one bar more can double your speed. Keep it away from metal appliances and thick stone walls.
Unplug for a full 60 seconds, plug back in, wait 5 minutes for it to find the tower again. Cell connections go stale just like wired ones.
Smart Hub plans have data allowances — when you hit the cap, speeds crash hard or stop. Check your usage in the provider's app before assuming hardware failure.
Heavy rain or snow weakens cell signals — a rainy-day slowdown is physics, not a fault. Slow every evening but fine at noon? The local tower is congested at peak hours. Neither is fixable at your house, but a better antenna position helps both.
If the hub shows a strong signal and still won't connect, or fails in the same spot daily, the unit may be faulty or the local tower has a real problem — report it with your signal readings, or have a technician test the unit on-site.
